my car mechanic suddenly felt something cold in his feet at 2am one
night and woke up to see water rising, drenching his bed..he had to lift
his kid, wake the wife and run away..
run 'away' they did..but what of the bed mattress and all other household stuff?
not just that- all his tools except one jockey has been washed
away..all the customers vehicle lined up in his campus were under
water..who will bear the cost now?
a couple walking back home from velachery to pallikaraanai (bcos the
taxi guy dropped them there and wudnt go further; obviously he knew all
those areas were lakes.) died..their body was found 4 days later after
the water receded!
another friend lost everything including his
kids books and dresses..in the middle of the night they saw water rising
all the way up and ran away to a friends house, to come back and see
that even the books and few important stuff shoved on the loft were all
wet and gone..
all these because a city wasnt planned..bcos a
city did not follow any rules or norms..bcos all water bodies were
stolen by the rich and mighty...bcos nobody cares..
and most
importantly the govt decided to open and let our water from many huge
lakes and tanks without any warning..without any thought..without any
heart...
heard of that hospital where lots died? (No, i dont trust the number that has been 'officially' announced..am told its atleast 10 times more)
DAMN THEM!
aside: some of those tall posh apartments
(obviously built on lakes) are under water..one such had all of the
residents flee and till date all but 3 are still out..the whole basement
is still under water..
one of the huge apartments in sholinganallur
has some 2000 cars fully submerged under water for 8 days now..they
cant pump out the water!
